Your words are not our commodity.
This product-design statement is not the final jurisdiction-specific legal notice. BEFORE’s narrow responsibility is to turn intentional audio into a faithful transcript and deliver it securely to an agent the user authorizes.

Recording is a physical decision.
What BEFORE processes
The bracelet and iPhone process intentionally recorded audio and capture metadata. BEFORE’s service receives account and device identifiers, signed clean transcript versions, timestamps, processing provenance, access history and content-free support diagnostics.
What BEFORE does not create
BEFORE does not extract or store projects, people, tasks, decisions, questions, ideas, summaries, identities, memories or actions. V1 does not identify or separate speakers.
Raw audio and transcript access
V1 English transcription runs on the iPhone. Captured audio is not uploaded to BEFORE’s backend and is never exposed through MCP. An authorized external agent can retrieve only clean transcripts and their provenance through explicit MCP calls.
Retention and deletion
Raw audio stays in protected bracelet or iPhone storage for the shortest verified local transcription and retry window unless the user explicitly preserves it. Transcript versions and provenance follow the capture lifecycle. Users can delete raw audio alone, a full capture or their account.
No hidden recording
A physical action starts and stops recording, with device feedback that must pass hardware acceptance. BEFORE has no wake-word, continuous-listening or remote-recording mode. Users remain responsible for required participant consent.
No sale, advertising or product training
The product does not sell user content, use it for advertising or train models on it. The V1 path uses Apple’s on-device speech recognition and sends only the signed transcript package to BEFORE’s service; captured audio is not a cloud-transcription input.
Your external agent
Once your agent retrieves a transcript, that provider’s policies apply to its copy. Revoking BEFORE access stops future retrieval but cannot erase transcript text already placed in an external provider’s conversation history.
Open before launch
The final legal notice must identify the operating company, privacy contact, legal bases, hosting and processing regions, subprocessors, transfer mechanisms, retention windows, age eligibility and regional recording-consent guidance.
Your transcript stays yours.
